Frequently Asked Questions

  • Providers Who Care is a comprehensive eating disorder training program designed for healthcare teams. We offer in-person and virtual education that helps providers move beyond basic knowledge to develop the confidence, language, and skills needed to support individuals living with eating disorders in everyday practice.

  • This training is designed for all healthcare providers—including nurses, physicians, dietitians, therapists, and allied health professionals. You don’t need to specialize in eating disorders to benefit. In fact, this training is especially valuable for providers who encounter eating disorders in general practice and want to feel more prepared and supported.

  • Providers Who Care goes beyond diagnosis and theory. We focus on what to actually say and do in real clinical moments. The training is interactive, case-based, and rooted in compassionate, trauma-informed care—so your team leaves with practical tools, not just information.

  • We cover a wide range of topics, including:

    • Understanding eating disorders beyond the DSM-5

    • Screening and early identification, and what your next steps are

    • How to communicate with compassion, avoid harm, and build rapport

    • Determining appropriate levels of care and referrals

    • Supporting complex cases (e.g., co-occurring conditions like diabetes, ASD, and mental health concerns)

    • Who is on the treatment team and each providers important role

    • Current research and challenging the norms

All content is delivered through a human-inclusive, trauma-informed and deeply compassionate lens.

  • Yes—Providers Who Care offers both in-person and virtual training options. We work with your organization to create a learning experience that fits your team’s needs, whether that’s a full-day in-person workshop or a live virtual training session.

  • Your learning doesn’t stop after the training day. Teams receive access to monthly “office hours” sessions for ongoing support, case consultation, and continued skill development. This helps providers integrate what they’ve learned into real practice and feel supported when navigating complex situations.
